Real materials from real sessions — a look at how Keystone Learning Co. approaches reading, math, and structured literacy at every level.

Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy

Reading and spelling don't click the same way for every kid — this is a peek into Orton-Gillingham, a structured, multisensory approach I use for students who learn differently, including kids with dyslexia and reading delays.

Math, at Every Stage

Math looks a little different at every stage — from counting and shapes in the early years, all the way through algebra and graphing in high school. These are just a few glimpses into what a session might look like.

Early elementary math materials for number sense, color sorting, shapes, and addition

Early Elementary

A peek into some of what we work on: number sense, colors, shapes, and simple addition/subtraction.

Mid-elementary math materials for fractions, time, multiplication, place value, and counting coins

Mid-Elementary

A glimpse of the skills we practice: number sense for 2-3 digit numbers, telling time, counting coins, word problems, and introducing multiplication and fractions.

Upper elementary math materials for long division, decimals, word problems, and order of operations

Upper Elementary

Just a sample of what a session might cover: decimals, order of operations, word problems across all four operations, long division, double-digit multiplication, and more.

High school math materials for algebra tiles, graphing quadratics, and scientific notation

Algebra & High School

One example of the material we dig into: algebra, scientific notation, and graphing.

Reading, at Every Stage

Just like math, reading instruction looks different depending on where a student is — here's a look across the grade bands.

Early elementary reading materials: CVC word building on a whiteboard, picture-sound cards, sight word bingo, and handwriting practice

Early Elementary

A peek into some of what we work on: CVC word building and blending, sight word recognition, and early sentence writing and handwriting.

Middle elementary reading materials: picture dictionary, fluency passage, inference cards, sentence challenge, and multisyllable word cubes

Middle Elementary

A glimpse of the skills we practice: vocabulary building, reading fluency, inference and comprehension, sentence writing, and multisyllable word building.

Upper elementary reading materials: theme passage, CUPS editing poster, open and closed syllable cards, and a timed fluency passage

Upper Elementary

Just a sample of what a session might cover: theme and comprehension, editing and revision using the CUPS method, syllable types, and reading fluency.

Middle school reading materials: an annotated nonfiction article marked for tone shift and figurative language, with literary device reference cards

Middle School

One example of the material we dig into: figurative language, tone and author's purpose, and persuasive writing techniques.

High school reading materials: an annotated poem analysis worksheet and a persuasive devices reference chart

High School

A snapshot of the kind of analysis we do: poetry and figurative language, close reading, and persuasive rhetorical devices.
